Group of Creatives Organize New Arts Festival
A brand new festival called “Creative City Festival” has been created by a group of seven area female artists and poets for May 4th from 4-11 pm at the Davis Building in Downtown Toledo, Ohio at 124 10th Street.
The group has worked together to create an event that showcases a juried fine art show, tables and booths of artists, crafters and writers. The show will have live music by several area bands, poetry and spoken word performances and live painting demonstrations. All of this and the group is raising funds for Fur Angels Rescue Shelter through the sale of soda and water and a portion of the money earned by the juried art show.
Some of the music will be performed by Ryan and Asher Roth, New Moon Band, Red Eye to Vegas, Agatha Haag and O Odious Ones. Music will run from 4 until 11 pm.
Food Trucks on premises will be Old Dads Tacos, Wandering bean coffee, and Maybe Cheese Born with It.
The seven area female creatives organizing the festival are Shannon Eis, Mary Jane Erard, Andrea Hernandez, Miriam Wagoner, Jonie McIntire, Rose Letherby and Dawn Bucklew. The group is hoping to make Creative City Festival an annual event. The event is free to the public.
The festival is still accepting applications for the juried show and table spaces until April 19th. See Facebook at Creative City Festival for an application and additional information including photos and videos.
