Creative Business School

The Creative Business School is a safe and inclusive programme aimed at Creative Practitioners, Freelancers and Entrepreneurs who are looking for like-minded support and time to develop an idea, activity or ongoing venture into a tangible business plan that has the potential to become a reality.

The programme is a FREE of charge initiative aimed at providing creatively focused business support in Bath and North East Somerset and surounding areas.

Each session of the Creative Business School will delve into various aspects of business development through a creative lens, including mindset exploration and the deconstruction of the professional journey, creative identity and values, using a creative enterprise canvas to map ideas.

The programme structure includes a facilitated workshop session followed by a co-working reflection time to give space to the development of our idea and to connection with the wider group.

Over the 6 sessions you will learn:

Session 1: craft your vision (9th May)

Session 2: market research (23rd May)

Session 3: money and budget (6th June)

Session 4: using the creative business canvas (20th June)

Session 5: pitching prep and confidence building (4th July)

Session 6: Pitch sharing and a chance to to be awarded a share of £1,000 funding award (18th July).

In addition to the core sessions, the Creative Business School will offer accessible workshops to enhance participants' IT, numeracy, and bookkeeping skills, ensuring they have the necessary tools to succeed in their creative ventures.

If you have a creative idea at any stage of development, with a desire to create a tangible business activity ready to release into the world, you are welcome. We welcome everyone regardless of your background, experience, education or access needs.

We ask that you are committed to the process, can attend the core dates and will be present and generous to others during the sessions.

If you have any access requirements please do let us know in advance so that we can help you to feel at home with us at the Creative Business School right from the start.

3. Any worries, support or skills you feel you need to help you develop while you’re with us or to support you to participate during The Creative Business School.

Amy Morse is a creative entrepreneur who has mentored thousands of startups and small businesses for over 10 years across various projects. She is a published author, blogger, sometime artist and maker, with a passion for sustainability. When she’s not working, she can be found at her allotment. As a creative writer, she helps others to embrace their story, to develop their small business with courage, confidence, and creativity.

Your booking for The Creative Business School will be provisional until we have confirmed your place. Once your place is confirmed we will assume you are committing to the full series of Creative Business School dates.

We ask that if you need to cancel ahead of the first session give at least 2 working days notice to enable us to offer your place to someone else. We reserve the right to cancel your place if you are not eligible for this service.

Participants based in Bath & North East Somerset and Sounth Gloucestershire are eligible to receive up to 12 hours of additional free business support through the Cool Ventures funded Business Support Service.

The Creative Business School is a partnership between Emerge in Bath and Cool Ventures. The programme is a free of charge initiative aimed at providing creatively focused business support in Bath and North East Somerset.
