Celebrate International Women's Day with a slow Sunday morning at Patch Bournemouth filling up your creative cup. A beautiful breakfast, inspiring conversation and workshop await.
Creative Brunch Club is a chance for you to gather with like-minded women and be inspired by a local artist. Good food, inspiring surroundings and a pause to learn something new. This session is all about embracing self portraiture (using your phone) as a tool for creative expression and empowerment - self love not selfies!

Meet the artist
Get to know a local guest artist. Find out more about their work with a guided talk and Q&A and gentle self portraiture session. The guest artist for this event is
"I'm Alex, I’ve been using photography for self expression since 2014. I work as a documentary wedding photographer, capturing real stories and emotions for people, but self portraiture remained an important part of my own creative practice because it allows me to spend some quality time with my own emotions - like a journaling, but on a visual level. It’s always surprising and empowering if I let myself dive deeper with an open mind: that’s where the magic starts.
Self portraiture allows us to connect with our emotions in an unexpected way. It's like a form of journaling; no one has to witness the process or the results - the empowering benefits are all there for the person who embraces it. This session doesn’t require any technical skills, only your curiosity, passion to create, and a phone that’s always in your pocket anyway. Cameras are welcome but absolutely not necessary."
Over breakfast you'll learn how Alex uses her love of authentic storytelling to capture emotion, and she'll guide you through a gentle self portraiture session using your phone. It's a chance to explore the art form as a tool for empowerment and self expression. Think self love not selfies!
The venue is easy to find on the first floor at Bobby's on Bournemouth Square and there are cark parks nearby.
