Creative Art Therapy workshops for current Defence, Veterans, current & former First Responders providing a safe and supportive space for individuals to explore and express their emotions through creative artistic practices.
These workshops use a variety of creative techniques—including collage, drawing, sculpture, and mask-making—to help participants process experiences, manage stress, and reconnect with their identities beyond their service roles.
By engaging in hands-on, reflective activities such as mandala drawing and emotion-based sculpting, participants can find new ways to express inner thoughts, build resilience, and foster emotional healing. Designed with trauma-informed care in mind, these sessions aim to promote mental well-being, reduce anxiety, and encourage personal growth through the power of creative expression.
Week 1 Tuesday July 29th 10am
"I am" Self Portrait Collage:
Create a collage that represents different aspects of the individual's identity, using images, words, and textures that resonate with them. Self-Portrait:
Encourage the individual to create a self-portrait that reflects their inner and outer self, using colours, symbols, or words to express different aspects of their identity.

Week 2 Tuesday August 26th 10am
Mandala Drawing:
Engage in the repetitive and focused activity of creating a mandala, which can be a calming and centering experience.

Week 3 Tuesday September 30th 10am
Mask Making:
Mask making offers many possibilities when deciding between material, technique, and aesthetic. Explore your inner self by creating a mask that represents different emotions or aspects of your personality. A common tactic is painting how you think others see you on the exterior, while on the interior painting how you see yourself.

Week 4 Tuesday October 28th 10am
Panic Book:
Create a sketchbook dedicated to images and words that evoke feelings of calm and comfort, to be used as a resource during panic attacks.

Week 5 Tuesday November 25th 10am
Sculpt Your Emotions:
Use clay or other 3D materials to create a physical representation of a specific emotion, like anger or sadness.
