Mark Reilly (he/him)
Mark a.k.a. Marcus McFly was born with a rare disability known as undiagnosed congenital myopathy which affects his ability to stand or walk. Growing up with this condition has made things more challenging but it hasn’t stopped him from pursuing his passion for music. Since the age of 10, Mark has been writing songs inspired by the unique sounds, lyrics and style of hip-hop. He currently works with Northern Sound System's weekly hip-hop program that gives the youth in the Northern suburbs an opportunity to compose and record their own songs. In 2018 Mark joined the Carclew family as a Creative Consultant, which has helped him to hone his skills as a workshop facilitator and inspired him to seek more opportunities in this field.
This workshop is part of Carclew's Skilling Up professional development series for emerging creatives offering skills development, networking opportunities and supported employment that fosters the confidence and resilience needed to develop a sustainable and safe career.IMAGE: National Youth Arts Summit, PHOTO: Orana Studios
