About this Event
The Cheyenne Creativity Center’s ‘Creative Aging Program’ features several workshop series throughout the year, specifically for older adults (age 60+) who would like to expand their arts knowledge. Our workshops are taught by experienced instructors who cover a variety of techniques, skills, and media, helping people to grow through the arts.
In this 8 week course, participants will explore painting as a relaxing exercise, while learning the fundamentals of acrylic, watercolor, and pastels, and experiencing the community that comes from painting together. Participants will learn how to identify colors and patterns that appeal to them, and incorporate topics they love into their artwork. The culmination of the class will be a casual event, where each participant will invite a friend or family member, and guide them in painting a small piece alongside the class. This course will inspire participants to find joy and peace in crafting artwork, and teach them to foster community as they create.
