It’s one thing to have imagined a superhero, now it is time to bring that superhero to life in full costume!
Workshop participants will craft costumes from established designs in week 1 using re-purposed materials. They will learn sizing, cutting, adhesive and minor sewing techniques using recycled materials such as, cardboard, yarn, fabric, clothing, etc. The designs could potentially be selected for display inside The NACC, or possibly be worn during the NACC Wearable Art Runway Competition Fashion Show.

Superhero Alliance of WNY – SAWNY – bring favorite comic book heroes to life for the benefit of the community. Like many similar organizations, they use their passion and skills in costuming to give back to the community through fundraising and supporting charity and community events.
