This lecture by John Malden complements the exhibition Paxton House: Crossing Borders, which is on display at the Granary Gallery, Berwick until 23rd February 2025. Opening times are 11 am - 4pm Weds -Sun, entrance is free.
Built in the 18th century, Paxton House contains the finest collection of 18th century costume, Chippendale & Trotter furniture, paintings and archives, set in extensive grounds and parkland. Administered by the Paxton Trust, it is a major tourist attraction in the Scottish Borders.
John Malden was Director of Paxton House Trust from 2002 to 2009 and spent seven years improving and conserving the collections and creating links with other communities. He has lectured widely in Britain and the United States, as well as publishing award-winning books on heraldry, photography and history.
Tea and coffee will be served, and all are welcome. There is no need to print out and bring your ticket, as we will have a record of your booking.
