About this Event
Outdoor artist Charlie Hill will guide you through the colourful process of creating natural dyes - from looking at plants, roots and some surprising natural materials to extracting the dye and what materials to use. Play with patterns and experiment!
This workshop is perfect for beginners or for anyone already skilled in the natural dye process but looking to take their learning further.
There will also be an opportunity to learn about and forage for some local plants for interest and afterwards we will gather to enjoy a warm drink heated on one of our fires and some delicious cake.
All you need to bring is yourself and dress for the weather.
- In the event of heavy rain or strong winds, the event may be rescheduled and / or refunds offered. In the event of lighter rain, the area will be covered with shelters.
- Welfare facilities are available in the house.
- Accessibility - the woodland garden is set in a small valley down steep steps so no wheelchair access is available unfortunately. We would like to run similar sessions in other areas of Sheffield so if you would like to join but need good access, please do let us know so we can contact you for future sessions.
- There is plenty of roadside parking and the space is a 5 minute walk from the number 20 and 18 bus stops. There is also a place to secure bikes.
