Andrea Simmons Esq., LL.M received her Juris Doctorate from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in 2016 while raising four children with a spouse working overseas. She later obtained her Master of Laws in International Business Law in March 2020. Andréa wrote and defended her Masters’ Thesis on “Concerns facing the Global Intellectual Property of Copyrights in the Digital Age”.

She is currently the Chair of the Las Vegas National Bar Association Foundation and the Gala Committee Co-Chair of the Las Vegas National Bar Association. She also sits on the board of Nevada Prep Charter School.

Andréa is a licensed attorney and opened her own law firm ABSimmons Law PLLC in 2020. Her firm focuses on the practice of intellectual property (IP) law (copyright, trademark, trade secrets, licensing agreements, etc.), international business law, entertainment law, and some immigration. Andréa opened her own firm because she cares about making sure that individuals and small businesses understand their IP rights. She knows how intimidating legalese can be, therefore she is dedicated to keeping her clients informed and educated.

In April 2021, Andréa decided to start her own fleet maintenance, logistics and communications company in Las Vegas, Nevada. This desire came for the nearly twelve years she spent supporting her husband as he performed government contracts of heavy wheeled fleet maintenance overseas in areas such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia. With her years of experience in reviewing the contracts her husband performed and her legal background; Andréa decided to open a business that would allow her husband to still do the work he loves. This business would allow her family the opportunity to have more control over her husband’s time away from home. MAAS Solutions Group LLC was formed and is seeking contracts in the local and federal government and private sectors performing fleet maintenance, logistics and communications. Andréa looks to expand her company internationally and continue to protect the intellectual property rights of small business owners and individuals.

Shiny Rachel Mathew loves making the topic of tax policy, tax strategy, tax administration, tax cases, and tax law easy to understand for all!

Shiny never planned on becoming a tax attorney, but while working as an accountant she knew she wanted to fight the IRS for the business community she served. The passion she exhibits today - to help others- is the cornerstone of who she is.

Shiny’s unusually high aptitude for numbers became evident while working on her undergraduate degree. Though not required for her degree, Shiny found that she excelled in high level college math courses and took algebra, trigonometry, pre-calculus, calculus I, calculus II, calculus III, differential equations, and statistics. Her affinity for numbers and passion for helping others, prompted one of her college professors to ask her if she could hire Shiny as a teaching instructor for her college math course and if she would be interested in a job as a tutor for the math department. Shiny said yes to both! Finding ways to explain concepts to students who had enormous difficulty grasping the subjects reinforced how much Shiny loved helping others overcome obstacles in their lives. Not much has changed in the decades since and instead of helping college students, Shiny now helps business owners and self-employed individuals save their business and often their livelihood. Shiny has spoken to professional audiences over 400 times all across the United States about taxes, accounting, the economy, the budget, political economic theories, the IRS, growing a business, being self-employed, leadership, public speaking, branding, marketing, work life balance, ethics in business, and more.

In 2010, Shiny joined Rod Polston’s tax practice with 3 full time employees, and helped grow it into the 3rd largest tax resolution firm in the nation. Today Shiny Mathew and Rod Polston co-own Polston Tax with over 100 employees across 7 states, and they have helped over 10,000 clients across the nation save millions upon millions of dollars in taxes. On top of her work as a tax attorney, Shiny is incredibly involved in her community. She serves on several boards including the Bar Foundation, Metropolitan Library Endowment Trust, and was appointed by the Governor to serve as a Commissioner for the Status of Women Commission to help elevate the career and educational advancement opportunities for women.
