About this Event

Join us for a free-to-attend LGBTQIA+ Arts and Heritage workshop.

This workshop is the first in a two-part series preparing LGBTQIA+ people to confidently get on the stage. This course has been designed for all experience levels from beginner to pro. You can attend one or both workshops.

Facilitators- Bess Still (they/them) is a higher education facilitator and theatre director. Their teaching practice is underpinned by an encouragement of authentic creative identity and emotional safety. Chloe Coombes (she/her) is a theatremaker with a background in outreach work and facilitation. She has experience facilitating drama workshops for adults, young people, multigenerational groups, and young people with SEN.

This workshop is an opportunity for you to learn more about their practice, queer community & create characters and performances!

The schedule for the 2-part course is:

Workshop 1 - Creating a Character on the 02nd of February at 13:30-15:30

Workshop 2 - Devising a Story on the 23rd of February at 13:30-15:30

In this series of workshops focusing on performance, attendees will learn, explore new skills, and express their identities in a safe space and supportive environment.

This event is completely free to attend and includes all of the resources and knowledge! There is an optional donation to support Blossom LGBT CIC's work in providing social spaces, mentoring & life skill classes to LGBTQIA+ young adults. If you do choose to donate EventBrite automatically adds a small processing fee - We're sorry about this.

Accessibility - The venue consists of one main room with a step-down and permanent ramp to the bar and disabled toilets. The venue is accessible by a permanent ramp at the main entrance.

The venue has an accessible toilet, which uses a RADAR lock, if you do not have a key the team can help to open it.
