Join us for an interactive in-person only workshop led by members of the California Doughnut Economics Coalition where we will explore the principles of Doughnut Economics and how they can transform the way we approach business and economics.
Through engaging activities, discussions, and case studies, UC Berkeley community participants will gain a deeper understanding of how we can create a thriving economy that promotes the well-being of people and the planet.
This workshop will not only educate participants on the basic principles of Doughnut Economics, but also showcase the newly unveiled California Doughnut Economics Snapshot and empower them to think critically about current economic models and how they can make a positive impact in their future careers in California and beyond.
Doors open at 4:30 PM PST
Program will begin promptly at 5:00 PM PST
Food and refreshments will be provided as well as a free copies of Doughnut Economics 7 Ways to Think Like a 21st Century Economist by Kate Raworth for student registrants.
About the workshop presenters:
Franziska Raedeker is an independent sustainability consultant and lecturer. Passionate about halting/reversing the climate and ecosystems crisis, she helps organizations worldwide reduce their footprint and develop regenerative strategies with a positive impact on people, planet, and prosperity. As a volunteer, Franziska led several public schools’ Green Teams, participated in an alumni group for global climate action, got certified as a Climate Reality Leader, and has been involved in CalDEC since its early days. Oh, and she’s a Haas MBA who has been in touch with the Center for Responsible Business since its early days!
Della Duncan is the Presentation Lead at CalDEC. Della is a Renegade Economist who hosts the Upstream Podcast inviting you to unlearn everything you thought you knew about economics. She is also a Right Livelihood coach, a Senior Fellow of Social and Economic Equity at the International Inequalities Institute in the London School of Economics, the Course Development Manager of Fritjof Capra’s Capra Course on the Systems View of Life, a Senior Lecturer at the California Institute of Integral Studies and Gaia Ed., and a Post-Capitalist Economics Consultant.
