Session overview

Using the biodiverse, organic garden at Ryton as an example - you’ll explore some of the practical things you can do to create a more wildlife-friendly growing space, whatever the size.

Session leader: Elaine Goold

Elaine has worked with Garden Organic since 2013 as a knowledge transfer officer delivering horticultural training and social and therapeutic horticulture to a wide range of audiences, including schools. Originally trained as a primary school teacher, Elaine spent 10 years inspiring young people as an outdoor instructor in Cumbria, before discovering horticultural therapy and retraining in horticulture. She’s passionate about growing organically and the benefits it has for health and wellbeing, promoting biodiversity and environmental sustainability. Elaine lives in Northamptonshire with her husband and their two young children. She keeps guinea pigs and chickens, along with a thriving wild hedgehog population.
