This project will take 2 classes to complete. Wednesday, July 3rd we will learn the history of papier-mâche & start creating our papier-mâche lanterns. Students will create these out of a balloon & newspaper & a glue mixture. These will be left to dry until next week. This class will be about an hour & a half. It is $22/student. Then on July 10th students will pop their balloon, cut shapes, their name, or an animal silhouette out of their papier-mâche lantern. They will paint them with acrylic paint, add tissue paper to the cut out areas, add beads, & the light kit. These are functional lamps that can be hung from the ceiling. We use them in our classroom. This 2nd class on the 10th will be 1½ - 2 hours long & is $22/student also. They take them home this day. Located at 2163 Gause Blvd West in Slidell inside Natural Healing Family Chiropractic in the art studio.
