Downtown Library
Downtown Teen Space Conference Room
Discover the roots of Tarot as a centuries-old card game played across Europe—long before its use in fortune-telling. Learn how Tarot games were played in 15th-century Italy, including suits, court cards, and “triumphs.” Using colored pencils, markers, and blank Tarot cards, participants will design their own historical “triumph” card with its own special rule in a Tarot game and learn how to play this historic game. Teens will get a quick look at the history of Tarot and have time to use their creativity to design their own game cards.
This program includes a 15-minute presentation followed by a 45-minute creative activity.
