Learn traditional Arabic calligraphy techniques using bamboo and hand-mixed ink in the Nastaliq Arabic script. This is an introductory session and knowledge of Arabic is not necessary. At the workshop you will also learn how Razwan has fused traditional methods with modern Art to celebrate the North of England through Arabic Calligraphy. All materials provided and you are welcome to bring along a sketch book!
As well as making art we’ll also be doing lots of chatting together about creativity. The workshop will very social and will be a chance to meet, connect and share ideas with other Keighley folk about what we want to see happen at the Library.
This workshop will be led by artist Razwan Ul-Haq along with the Create Connect Make team.
Razwan Ul-Haq is an Artist and Author, blending English poetry and Arabic Calligraphy. He is a widely exhibited Artist whose work has been displayed in galleries and museums. His commissions include Land Art for the Tour de France and to celebrate the birthday of the Queen.
