In this workshop we will design and create festivity cards that celebrate the motif of light.
Light is a shared symbol during winter festivals. When the days are darkest and nights are longest, people from all walks of life celebrate with lights to bring warmth, hope, and joy.
Christians light candles in Christmas, Jews light the menorah in Hannukah, Hindus light diyas at Diwali and Buddhists light lamps on Bodhi Day. Although not always in winter, Muslims sometimes decorate their homes and mosques with lights during celebrations like Mawlid al-Nabi.
Join us to celebrate light and remind us that even in the darkest times, goodness, truth, and hope can shine brightly.
