Take the beach with you everywhere you go. In this class, you’ll learn how to turn your precious beach treasures into a gorgeous, unique silver pendant. Using traditional jewellery-making techniques, I’ll show you the basics of pendant making and bezel setting while you enjoy the supportive and nurturing atmosphere in our beautiful gallery.Perfect for ambitious beginners to those with a touch more experience, this class is the ideal place to discover whether jewellery making is for you.
Each student is provided with a starter kit, which includes saw blades, sandpaper and enough silver to make a pendant with a small to medium piece of sea glass (up to 15mm x 15mm x 5mm).
At the end of this course, you will have practised the art of:
. Soldering
. Saw piercing
. Bezel setting unusual shapes
. Finishing.
I have a selection of sea glass available to choose from. I always encourage students to bring their own beach jewels to make the piece more meaningful. If you’d like to make a larger pendant, additional silver, silver chains, and materials will be available for purchase through the studio.
