About this Event
The Community Rehabilitation and Disability Studies Students' Association (CRDSSA) is excited to host our 3rd Annual Disability Research Conference on March 15 at the Sinneave Family Foundation (Child Development Center)!
This year our theme is From Research to Policy to Practice: Bridging Gaps in Disability Advocacy. This conference is designed to be accessible and supportive for students to share their research– whether academic, classroom-based, or community-driven. The conference will also be hybrid, so we encourage anyone who is unable to attend in person to participate online! Thanks to our generous partners Sinneave Family Foundation, for making the conference hybrid and providing an in-person space and the Canadian Calgary Hard of Hearing Association for providing closed captioning CART services.
The conference will feature three distinguished keynote speakers– Dr. Meghan Edwards, Dr. Alan Martino, and Dr. Zack Marshall– along with a community panel, poster presentations, and networking opportunities for students, faculty, and community partners.
Presentations will be PowerPoint slides or posters and can be on a variety of topics:
- 3 minute Thesis
- A paper you wrote in class
- A presentation you did as a group (you may present these with your group or independently)
- A practicum project
- A topic you think needs to be discussed
- Anything else!
Please fill out this form to attend the conference or submit your abstract: https://forms.gle/ASRxE6y2oAWBZbbi6
We look forward to seeing you at the CRDSSA Disability Research Conference! If you have any questions or need assistance with your abstract or presentation, please reach out to [email protected] or message us on Instagram @crdssa.uofc!
