Crazy about Stitches - Hand Embroidery 2 Day Course

What the workshop is about:

This will explore the potential of combining a range of basic stitches to create pattern. After the first couple of examples suggested by the tutor, students will create their own pairings of stitches and work them on a sampler in a variety of colours and thread types. New stitches will be introduced throughout the course. This explores combining different stitches in a range of ways for decorative lines. These patterns are great for crazy patchwork, embellishing clothing, creating borders or in mixed media art.

Suitable for both those wanting to learn more embroidery stitches and those who can already work them and would like to explore how to combine them creatively.

By the end of the 2 day workshop you will:

· Have learnt how to work a range of stitches

· Be familiar with the idea of a framework stitches that can be embellished with others

· Be confident combining stitches to create your own patterns

· Have explored the effects of altering stitch proportions

· Have experimented with colour combinations

All supplies will be ready and waiting for you on the course, so all you need to bring is yourself!
