Ahoy me hearties!On March 22, 2025 we will be holding our annual fundraising off-road event, “Crawl for CARMA”. “CARMA” (which stands for Cat Rescue Maritimes), is a registered charity (#835850561RR0001) that is near and dear to our hearts as my wife and I have given a home to eight rescued cats ourselves and do our best to help out whenever we can. Private donations and fundraisers are the only way they continue to operate.
CARMA strives to improve the lives of the homeless cats around us, most of whom were pets once that have been abandoned, or kittens that were born from these abandoned pets. Their immediate goal is to humanely reduce the number of unwanted cats and kittens dying needless premature deaths and to place non-feral homeless cats and kittens in responsible homes. They operate TNR (trap-neuter-return) programs where colonies of stray, abandoned and feral cats exist under the care of a caregiver. They also assist caregivers in providing food, shelter and medical care for animals in their colonies.
This year we will run some somewhat stock friendly trails in South Brook, NS ten minutes outside of Springhill.
As in previous years, we will run a mild trail during the day Saturday, followed by a social bonfire, hot dogs, chili, prizes and camaraderie!! Optional evening fun on some harder trails a stone's throw from the bonfire!
