Woodstock is growing fast—and with that growth come big questions about traffic, housing, safety, and how our city makes decisions.
Join Martha Jean Schindler (candidate for Mayor), Gopi Govindaraj (candidate for City Council, Ward 5), and Trent Council (candidate for City Council, Ward 1) for a town hall that puts the mic in your hands.
This isn’t a scripted lecture, but an open, honest conversation about the future of Woodstock. Bring your questions, your ideas, and your experiences. Together, we’ll talk about what’s working, what’s not, and what needs to change.
📅 Schedule & Locations Monday, October 20 | 6:30 – 8:00 PM | WREC Community Room (English) Tuesday, October 21 | 6:30 – 8:00 PM | Rose Creek Library (Spanish, translator provided)
💡 Free & open to the public. Please RSVP to save your spot!
📲 Your Voice, Your Questions We’re using Slido so you decide what gets discussed. Submit or upvote questions here: https://app.sli.do/event/bmmdUXmbc1thaph1G7CTrS
Right now, one question has risen to the top:
“Why were 35 out of 38 questions posted within three minutes of each other on Slido? Did the candidates write the questions to come prepared?”
Here’s the answer: Those 35 questions were sourced by the Master of Ceremonies from our last town hall and preloaded into Slido so everyone could see and vote on them. That’s why the timestamps are grouped together. We included every question he collected—even the ones that were tough or unfair—because transparency means letting people see the whole picture, not just the easy parts.
We’ve decided to keep all the questions we’ve been asked so far and let everyone continue voting on them. That way, nothing gets hidden, and the people—not the candidates—decide what deserves an answer.
Woodstock is at a crossroads—literally and figuratively. The choices we make now will shape our hometown for decades. These town halls are about turning up the volume on democracy. Show up, speak up, and help chart Woodstock’s future.
