Re-scheduled from 8th December 2024, this is a 10.5 mile walk starting in Cranbrook which follows a circuit titled "a walk through time" and is one of a small series of these routes within the area, which the group last walked in April 2023.You can expect, orchards, oast houses, views across the Weald and famous castle gardens, making this walk a box of Kentish delights.
After passing Cranbrook Church, we head northwards through Freizley & Hocker Edge, continuing onto Saunders Wood. We eventually reach Home Wood to then pass close to the National trust owned Sissinghurst Castle. We will stop here for our picnic lunch stop, before continuing beside Horse Race Woods to reach Sissinghurst, where a pub pit stop at the Milk House is handy.
We cross the road to finish off our route back to Cranbrook, remembering that last time the initial narrow footpath was a challenging one, but hopefully it will be in better condition on this occasion!
