2. MARAIGH (Glasgow)
They're too crusty for the jolly light-hearted black metal posse, and they're too black metal for the crust-punks of the west central belt. Fortunately this is Aberdeen Punk where at least an element of metal is required in a hardcore punk sound, don't know why, but it's been like this since '98 or '99. They're in the right place. Last seen opening for local BM bands Dreich and Drekavac in December, they're already back to play the city that will soon become their spiritual home.

3. VIBRATOR (Aberdeen)
Vibrator blends surf rock with punk, pulling influences from bands like Dead Kennedys and Black Flag. Last seen wowing audiences / stunning audiences with reverb at the Musical Vision BYOB gig, right before Xmas. They're midway between Butthole Surfers and "Loose Nut" era Flag to me. Get your silly prancing shoes on, things are gonna get a lot weirder
