About the Workshop

This workshop explores how to craft compelling stories about the natural world that draw on science and field research yet connect with audiences beyond these fields.

It is designed for scientists, budding writers, field conservationists, and anyone looking to communicate their work more effectively. Although rooted in writing, it draws from Roundglass Sustain’s rich repository of films, photo essays, and stories, demonstrating how storytelling can engage diverse audiences even in today’s age of fleeting attention spans.

Fifty percent of the workshop fees go to the organisers and the rest supports Roundglass Sustain’s storytelling endeavours.

What You’ll Do

• Engage in 3–4 focused exercises (15–20 minutes each) on deep observation, character building, and crafting new story angles. 
• Take part in discussions and feedback sessions.
• Learn to craft a pitch.

• The ability to take a topic or an idea and turn it into a pitchable story.
• Learn practical skills in observation and storytelling.
