Crafting Experimental Cinema with Super 8! WORKSHOP

Dive into the world of experimental filmmaking with the timeless charm of Super 8.

Led by featured SMFF filmmaker Laura G. Escribano (visiting from Spain for the festival), this hands-on workshop encourages participants to leave behind traditional scripts and storyboards and embrace the freedom of visual storytelling and develop the craft of "image thinking".

In this workshop, you will:

• Explore the concept of "camering" and discover how to create meaning through images rather than words.
• Experiment with a Super 8 camera and other simple video tools, learning how to capture raw, unfiltered moments.
• Collaborate on a collective film, using in-camera editing to build a spontaneous, unique narrative with in-camera montage.

All equipment, including the Super 8 camera, film processing, and scanning, will be provided. No prior experience needed—just bring your creativity!
