Prioritize joy, creativity and community through craft at Heart Center!Each time we meet, artists and makers, Mickey Thiry and special guests will provide an organized craft. Sessions include an opening circle and meditation, followed by demonstration/ explanation of the focused craft/ activity. Most of our time is dedicated to working at community tables with open space to craft and chat. The last portion of the time is dedicated to closing. We will share projects + anything that came up during the session. We close with a bow and a collective breath.
March 9th: Mindful Doodles. A pen, a piece of paper, and a connected state of being. Work with lines and repetitive patterns to build up an image over time. Students can expect to leave this session with a connected and calm nervous system and a carefully crafted linework drawing.
Up next March 23rd: Print Your Own Prayer Flags. Bringing the lino-blocks back, this time to create printed prayer flags. Use your own stamp to create your flags, or use a stamp from each student to bring home flags crafted by your community.
Tea is provided! We suggest a minimum $15 contribution to help cover supply costs, however participants can give as they wish. In-center offerings are also available. We fully support you if you wish to bring your own craft.
