On July 11th from 6.00pm-7.30pm, Daniel Sams will be running a willow bird feeder workshop at R Place Cafe in North Shields.This is a very relaxed workshop and would involve everyone learning and making their own bird feeders out of willow. This involves weaving the willow into the desired shape and learning some techniques. Dan will provide bird feed to fill the feeders at the end of the class and everyone gets to take home their woven items!
All materials such as willow and any tools needed to weave the willow plus bird food for the finished product is included.
Participants need to have good dexterity as willow weaving requires a lot of finger work so those with arthritis or wheelchair users may struggle.
You can keep as many feeders as you can make, (probably 2 or 3). Dan usually starts with an easy version with the option to progress to a slightly harder version for those who might like to try something a little more complex.
Tickets can be purchased from R Place via their website and are priced at £25 pp which includes all materials, bird food and the finished products.
