✏️How do craft swap events work?✏️
In a large room there are several tables, each labelled ‘fabric
’ or ‘paper crafts’ or ‘knitting and crochet’ etc. if you have things to get rid of at the swap (good condition, useable craft things) you bring them and place them on the most appropriate table.
Then you get to wander around all the tables and take the things that catch your fancy.
We ask that you donate £3 on your way in if you can afford it, after that there is no money involved. We pay to hire the hall and for insurance and a few other bits but the spare money goes to charity.
It’s good to come a few minutes early to put your stuff on the tables, but if you can’t make it at that time, it’s not a problem, people are coming in and bringing new stuff throughout the swap.
Before the start, when people are putting their items out, we’ll ask you to put your items out then sit down away the tables until we open to give everyone a fair chance, rather than look through as items are being brought in.
The rules are simple:
❤️ No electrical items
❤️ No magazines
❤️ No big storage items
❤️ Only bring craft items that are in good condition and useable
❤️ Be considerate and kind
❤️ Don’t push or grab, there’s plenty for everyone
❤️ Have fun
