The third of 6 free craft workshops running at the Eco-Hub this term. This session will be on anthotype with turmeric!
About this Event

Join us for an eco-friendly craft session! You are invited to join us for an ink printing workshop with tumeric - come away from this afternoon with a new skill and your own unique artwork!

How will the session work?:

In this low impact craft session we will make turmeric ink for sun exposure printing. We will make a turmeric solution and apply this to paper, then arranging objects, stencils and images on negative film to create a pattern which will emerge when exposed to sunlight or a uv lamp (dependent on the weather). If the weather isn’t on our side you can take your print home to develop on your windowsill.

The paper can be dipped into a bicarb solution to further develop the print - creating different reddish brown tones. This is a method you can repeat at home with store cupboard goods.

No experience is needed, just enthusiasm and willingness to learn! Tea and Coffee will be available to purchase on the day for 50p a cup.

This workshop is for staff, students and the wider Glagsow community!
