About this Event
: Southern Utah Gouache Painting
Join us for an inspiring evening of gouache painting at PBS Utah taught by local artisan Steph Alpizar of Trekking Turtle Studio! In this class, Steph will guide you through the versatile medium of gouache, paint that blends the fluidity of watercolor with the richness of opaque color. You'll learn techniques for layering and manipulating this sustainable, non-toxic medium to create a stunning painting of a Southern Utah Landscape. By the end of the class, you'll leave with your own finished painting and the skills to continue using gouache on your own!
Beginner-friendly and all supplies provided.
About the Instructor: Steph Alpizar
Steph grew up moving around the country and the world. When she arrived in Salt Lake, she quickly fell in love with the mountains, desert, and everything in between. She has used this beautiful landscape as inspiration for her paintings. Painting is her way of expressing the emotions that nature ignites in her, hoping that others will connect with it as she has and feel motivated to protect it.
