About this Event
Rathfarnham Village Tidy Towns group will host a presentation and demonstration on combatting food waste at Christmas time (and beyond!).
Averil has over 15 years of experience teaching, mentoring and group facilitation with people from age 1 to 91 years. With a background in education and innovation for sustainability she is passionate about engaging with communities to activate real, lasting and meaningful action to encourage a healthier, more connected and nature filled world.
Éilis has worked as a chef in the hospitality industry for over 17 years. She has found her passion in teaching children and communities how fundamental cookery skills and using local ingredients can have a huge positive impact on their overall wellness. She has founded the first accessible cookery programme for primary schools in Ireland. Delivering Culinary skills and food education programmes for skills and community groups, with the goal of reducing food poverty and increasing food nutrition.
Éilis and Averil are united in their love for people powered community change and of course a good homemade potato cake!
Together we deliver practical food waste workshops to community groups who want to learn more and live a little more sustainably!
