About this Event
The Trust is pleased to offer Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) Certification, in partnership with the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA). CPSI certification is the most comprehensive training program on playground hazard identification and risk management methods offered nationwide. The goal is to have at least one CPSI at each Member, creating a resident expert in playground safety and hazard awareness, to help ensure playgrounds are maintained and constructed according to the required standards. Member employees with CPSI certification will be expected to implement or update, and oversee a playground safety program, with support from The Trust. The CPSI Certification Program is offered at NO COST to Trust Members.
COURSE HIGHLIGHTS: The course provides in-depth analysis of ASTM standards related to playground safety, focused on the process of safety inspection from design through audit and inspection, to maintenance and risk management practices. In addition, the course provides practical training on how to apply the ASTM standards and Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) guidelines to playground environments.
The training is presented by a certified instructor and playground safety expert who will prepare participants to sit for the Certified Playground Safety Inspector exam on the third day of the program. Participants are required to attend both days of the training and complete the advanced reading prior to taking the CPSI exam on the third day. The CPSI Course has been pre-approved for 1.5 CEU’s.
