A note from the CPSA potluck organizing team:We are aware of rising Delta variant numbers in the area and are tracking them closely. We want to assure you that the safety and well-being of CPSA members is the number one priority for us as an organization, and we will avoid planning any events that pose serious health risks to our members.
In light of rising case numbers in DC, we want to make sure everyone feels comfortable at our first potluck this Saturday at Bardo Brewing. A few things to keep in mind:
To minimize risk, we ask that attendees not bring prepared food to share with other people. We are very disappointed we won’t get to enjoy each other’s cooking, but we want to take appropriate precautions to keep everyone safe and healthy. Please feel free to bring single packaged snacks, like small bags of chips or crackers. We will also be bringing cans of soda and other non-alcoholic drinks.
Bardo is an entirely outdoor venue. Only the bathrooms (which are in large shipping containers) are indoors. There is ample seating and room to spread out.
You do not have to consume alcohol or any other food/items! Please feel free to come as you are and participate in ways that make you feel comfortable.
Potluck organizers will bring plenty of hand sanitizer.
Masks are not required, but we recommend at least having one on-hand. Please use masks in whatever way makes you feel safest.
If you RSVP’ed for the potluck but no longer feel comfortable attending – no problem! We completely understand and encourage all members to do what makes them feel safe. We are planning some great virtual events in the next few weeks that we think everyone will be very excited about.
If you are not vaccinated, CPSA strongly encourages you to speak to your primary care provider to make the best choice for your health. More information about getting a vaccine can be found at https://www.vaccines.gov/.
Bardo Beer is located at 25 Potomac Ave SE, on the south side of Nats Stadium under the Frederick Douglass Memorial Bridge. The closest metro is the Navy Yard-Ballpark station on the Green Line. (Use the exit behind you as you exit the train.)
Please note:
We cannot bring alcoholic beverages to Bardo, but they will have their full draft beer selection available for purchase.
You are not expected or required to purchase anything from Bardo to attend.
CPSA members under the age of 21 are permitted on site, but may not purchase or consume alcoholic beverages.
Bardo is a 100% outdoor venue. We advise wearing comfortable, casual clothing and shoes, and bringing sunscreen, bug spray, and anything else that you would bring for a day in the park.
