The Central Puget Sound Chapter nursery grows plants for our annual plant sale and for stewardship giveaways to replant in neighborhood open spaces. We host a regular monthly work parties usually on a Saturday.To all those that joined us last month for one or both of our work parties, a huge Thank You! Our Spring Plant Sale was an enormous success and of the 2000+ plants we had (over 1000 sourced from our very own nursery), we came back with less than 50 plants!! We could not have done it without you!
For this work party, we will be focusing on the following tasks:
? Updating Nursery Inventory post sale
? Repairing Irrigation
? Putting Up Shade Cloths
? Spring Cleaning at the nursery
(Weeding plants and nursery beds/walkways,
shed cleaning)
? Washing and sanitizing pots
? Potting up seedlings
? Having fun!!
We will have gloves, tools, and water (cold / hot for tea) on hand as well as light refreshments (fruit and or snack bars/baked goodies). Our potting table area is covered but the rest of the nursery is open to the elements so please dress for the weather. Please also feel free to bring a lunch and take a break to stroll around Magnuson park!
