Tema helesiniseid silmi
raamis kastanpruun loomulikus laines juus,

Mil moel paneb see meid käituma? Millisena me iseend niisuguses olukorras tajume?

Tema kahvatusiniseid silmi
raamis kastanpruun, ent juba paari halli karva sisaldav juus,
mis langes ülejäänud kehaga võrreldes liigkondistele õlgadele.

Mis hetkel saab inimesest objekt? Mis hetkel hakkab ta häbi tundma?
Mängides teatrile omaste struktuurielementidega, püüab see “häbirännak-lavastus” valgust heita ühiskondlikele struktuuridele. Ning loomulikult ei jäta lavastus küsimata kõige tähtsamat: mitu korda minutis on inimesel võimalik oma juukseid sättida?

Her dark brown hair with its natural waves
perfectly framed her light blue eyes
falling, as it did, onto shoulders
marked by the delicate outline of the bones beneath.

Imagine a committee that observes your every move…
“Sidebar of Shame”* is a physical, verbal and visual journey that examines the feeling of being watched. How does it make us behave? How do we perceive ourselves in this situation?

Her dark brown hair, blemished with a few grey strands,
framed her pale blue eyes
falling, as it did, onto shoulders
that were too bony for the torso they adorned.

At which point do we start to become objects? At which point do we start to feel shame?

This performative journey of shame attempts to shine light upon societal structures by playing with theatrical ones. And it of course asks that most important question: how many times in a minute is it possible to adjust one’s hair?

*The term ‘sidebar of shame’ is used for the strip of thumbnail pictures on the right hand side of the British news website Mail Online, featuring (typically female) celebrities and their moments of „shame“.
Languages used in the performance: English, Estonian, Russian
