About this Event
Cal Poly Pomona’s Departments of Architecture and Landscape Architecture, their faculty, students and alumni invite you to FIRM DAY 2022.
This event will be IN-PERSON but we also offer a VIRTUAL ticket. The In-person ticket sales for On-CAMPUS tables will be limited for social distancing purposes.
Firm Day Itinerary (In-person)
- 8:00 am Firm + Vendor Load-In
- Light breakfast will be provided
- 9:00 am Kick Off + Welcome Remarks
- 9:30 am Interviews Begin - Vendor Displays Open
- 12:00 noon Working Lunch (boxed lunches will be provided)
- 4:00 pm Event Concludes
The event is open to architecture, landscape architecture, multidisciplinary, government, non-profit or any other type of firm, agency or organization interested in students of architecture and landscape architecture.
Due to CPP's health and safety protocol the size of the in-person event is limited. Every firm may attend with two representatives.
Upon registration, all participating companies will be provided space in a virtual gallery. As soon as student sign-up is complete (mid-January), firms will have access to an online student interest list and to a virtual student portfolio gallery, where firms can find work samples and résumés to pre-select and contact the students they wish to interview at the event. All registered firms will be provided a firm interest list where students can express interest in specific firms to help narrow your scope when reviewing work samples.
Even without prior communication, students are encouraged to use the in-person event to walk up, present themselves and their work.
Virtual Ticket
The virtual ticket will give firms access to the virtual galleries and the online interest lists without a table at the in-person event. Firms and students will communicate through the interest list and the provided contact information to set up online interviews as soon as the student sign-up is complete.
CPP Safer Return
All on-campus participants must take a day-of health screener prior to accessing campus and event. All participants on campus agree to comply with all CPP Safer Return policies: https://www.cpp.edu/safer-return/visitors/index.shtml
- Please do not attend the event if you are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms or are under quarantine or isolation orders.
- Adherence to all campus protocols is required.
- Indoor masking is always required with some exceptions.

On the day of the event, on-campus participating firms will have several hours to interview students and those you may meet at the event. All participating firms may use the virtual student portfolio gallery to set up online interviews for any date/time and through the platform of their choosing.
This entire event is open to all graduate and undergraduate students of the ARC and LA departments.

All participants, including students and faculty, are provided lunch and refreshments thanks to the support of participating firms. Where is Cal Poly Pomona?
Off the 10 Freeway at the 57.
Where is the event located on campus?
Firm Day is located in the Interim Design Center (IDC), building 89. The IDC is adjacent to the 10 Freeway off of Kellogg Drive. You can use the CPP parking map: http://www.cpp.edu/maps/static/
Can I pay by check?
No. Please use the Eventbrite link.
How many students can I expect to interview?
Firms may interview as many students as they pre-select or meet at the event as walk-ups. Firms will be able to pre-select through the online portfolio gallery and student interest lists.
May I bring exhibits?
Yes, so long as they can be on or behind the tables.
Is there power and wifi in the IDC?
Yes, there are outlets to share and strong wifi coverage in the IDC. Please bring your own power strips and short extension cord.
