Scandinavian Academy of Fashion Design students present gala designs inspired by Giacomo Leopardi's "Dialogue Between Fashion & Death"In this presentation Scandinavian Academy of Fashion Design 2nd year students address the parallels and differences that arise when fashion is merged with death.
Their designs were inspired by "Dialogue Between Fashion and Death," the Italian poem written in 1824 by Giacomo Leopardi. Each student reinterpreted this theme into gala designs creating standalone pieces using surface manipulations such as human hair, printing on worbla, imitated snakeskin and leather molding.
3D cushioned silhouettes, 19th century crinolines, felted raw wool details, and draping were shown throughout.
Come by and meet the students, sift through their portfolios and enjoy an afternoon drink with us.
