About this Event
The case for considering our past: Why and how Scotland should acknowledge and redress historic and ongoing injustices perpetuated by colonialism
A recent paper from Scotland’s International Development Alliance (SIDA), presents a compelling case for redefining our approach to building a just world, by interrogating our past and transforming our approach to foreign affairs. They ask that both the UK and Scottish governments commit to taking concrete steps to acknowledge and redress historic and ongoing injustices in order to begin paving the way for healing, reconciliation, and a more equitable future for all.
This meeting is a first step in fostering open conversations and broader knowledge sharing to learn from past mistakes. Speakers include reparations experts and will develop ideas from recent CPG meetings including how reparations intersects with a feminist approach to international relations.
