Safeguarding CPD Session

The YAS Safeguarding Team are pleased to bring you this in person event at The Holiday Inn Rotherham. The 3-hour session will contribute towards enhancing your existing Safeguarding knowledge and maintaining your compliance at Safeguarding Level 3. Certificates will be provided upon completion and light refreshments will be provided during the session. The session will cover:

Lindsey English - Specialist Domestic Abuse Practitioner, will provide a 45-minute overview of non-fatal strangulation (NFS) to raise awareness of signs, symptoms and prevalence of NFS experienced by victim-survivors of domestic abuse as well as the best practice response within healthcare.

Catherine Holliday - Named Professional for Safeguarding, will share a 45-minute whistle stop tour of what the YAS safeguarding team do/don’t do and what you can do to help Safeguard the patients/family members you meet. This session will include how to make a detailed and robust safeguarding referral and the importance of providing social care with all the information held by YAS.

Emma Davison - Named Professional for Safeguarding and long-standing YAS team leader will explore the importance of professional curiosity and discuss with you safeguarding reflections from practice, including patient experience examples to generate discussion and learning.
