Handmade Wool Slippers (Wet Felting Workshop)

Step into the cozy world of wet felting and create your own pair of handmade wool slippers in this immersive, hands-on workshop. Perfect for beginners and returning makers alike, this class teaches you how to transform raw wool fibers into warm, durable slippers shaped uniquely to your feet.

Over the course of this workshop, you’ll learn the traditional wet-felting process — layering fibers, shaping, fulling, and sculpting — as you build slippers from start to finish using natural wool. You’ll explore how fibers lock together, how to control shrinkage, and how to customize design and fit for lasting comfort. Expect a little bit of physical movement, lots of warm water and soap, and plenty of creativity.

Please Note: Wet felting is an active, hands-on craft. You can expect standing, pressing, rubbing, and rolling techniques that require light to moderate physical effort. We work at a relaxed pace, and all skill levels are encouraged — but be prepared to get your hands warm, wet, and soapy!

You’ll leave with a fully finished pair of wool slippers and the skills to continue wet felting at home. All materials are provided.

This class is held in our beautiful studio and workshop space in Portland, Oregon, just a short walk from the Willamette River in Johns Landing near Sellwood. Enjoy an intimate learning environment surrounded by craft, community, and inspiration.
