Does your club have what it takes to win the 2025 Coyote Cup?The four disc golf clubs from the four San Bernardino County Regional Parks are all invited to compete in this laid-back team challenge.
All four clubs will descend onto each of the courses, one at a time, on Saturdays during the month of January.
And after the round, the host club will host a BBQ potluck for all to enjoy.
At the end of the four-week series, the winning club will be awarded the Coyote Cup, a trophy that I am commissioning with 48 nameplates to honor the Coyote Cup winning clubs for the next 48 years to come.
And how will the winning club be determined? I'm so glad you asked. I don't really know yet. Maybe the Coyote Cup will go the the lowest scoring club. Or maybe it'll go to the club that involves the most women and juniors. Or maybe it'll go to the club that has the best outfits. The point is that I don't want this to become too competitive. So there is no maximum number of players for your team, or minimum or maximum ratings. We're doing this for fun.
Here's the schedule:
January 4: Mojave Narrows
January 11: Glen Helen
January 18: Prado
January 25: Yucaipa
Each date will start at 9am, so please plan on getting to the park a little earlier than that. And the potluck BBQ will take place immediately after the round.
I figure this will work best if each club is responsible for bringing different items to the potluck, which will rotate depending on the course we're playing. So for this first week, January 4 at Mojave Narrows...
Mojave Narrows: Meat and main dishes. Please consider bringing propane grills or charcoal.
Glen Helen: Drinks and plates. Please consider bringing non-adult beverages for those who don't drink along with adult beverages.
Prado: Side dishes and napkins. Please consider bringing multiple options and something for those who don't eat meat.
Yucaipa: Desserts, utensils, and trash bags. I'm partial to brownies, but y'all do you.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
I really hope you all are excited about this as I am. I think it's going to be a lot of fun and a great way to bring multiple disc golf communities together. I truly believe that disc golf saved my life and I relish the opportunity to make new friends through shared hobbies.
