About this Event
Cowley Collective is a workshop designed to help you explore what place-based working really means and how you can play an active role in shaping the lives of local residents. By connecting context, people and purpose, we’ll uncover the power each of us has to influence change and together, build stronger and healthier communities.
By drawing on the strengths, knowledge, and lived experiences of local people and community partners, we can help residents live healthier, happier lives. While this work focuses on using sport, physical activity, and movement as tools to tackle inequalities, it also connects closely with the wider work happening across Cowley Hill to support wellbeing, inclusion and opportunity.
This workshop is a vital step in bringing together local voices, assets and energy, helping us to build momentum, strengthen collaboration and continue creating positive change for our community.
During the session, we’ll explore:
- Context Setting: How Active Local connects to your shared local ambitions.
- Understanding Systems: The different layers of our community, and how change happens across them using the socioecological model.
- Different Types of Challenges: The behaviours and mindsets needed to tackle them effectively.
- An introduction to System Leadership: How each of us can play a role in leading change from where we are.
- A Collective Call to Action: Exploring what’s in it for you, how we can support one another and what practical steps we can each take.
