We are excited to line up for the fourth year of the Cowichan Valley Nightmare!
We will post a final ferry time and updated course accounting for any closures closer to the event.

About the Ride:
A ferry to ferry bike ride through the night mostly along the Cowichan Valley Trail. 203km of distance with 1744m elevation on primarily gravel. The clock starts when the Ferry lets us off and ends at the ticket booth for the ferry in Swartz Bay.
Since BC ferries will be unofficially starting the ride for us, please dont be a jerk and push people out of the way, etc. If you need to do that to win, you already lost.
In order to ride you should be on the 6:35 PM Ferry to Nanaimo out of Horseshoe Bay. Miss the ferry, miss the ride. If your already on the island, meet at the ferry terminal, ride starts when the other riders get off the ferry.
Safety vests and flashing lights STRONGLY recommended as the first part of the ride is on the road. The rest of the ride is primarily rail trail and bike path. The route is about 30% paved & the rest is Gravel.
Bear Spray is also recommended.
We are hoping for Rain but if it happens to be dry the ride will continue as planned.
No official tracker, but riders are encouraged to record their ride to verify their time.
This event is meant to be for fun and to hopefully help push people out of their comfort zone.

Unsanctioned, no entry fee or prize money, just a group meeting to ride a route at the same time. Ride at your own risk.
