The Cowgirl's Guide to Confidence: Empowering Women in Cattle Management
Clayton Corner Farm's 5th Biannual Hands-on Ladies’ Learning Event will be held April 30-May 2, 2025. We are honored Dr. Temple Grandin will join us Wednesday, 4/30, to kick off our Spring ’25 Cowgirl Confident event.
Our registrants will have the amazing opportunity to have dinner and a conversation with one of the world’s renowned experts in animal welfare and autism. Grandin’s unique connection to ‘thinking in pictures’ and animal behavior revolutionized the study of autism, reimagined humane treatment of animals and set quality standards in livestock industries. Our Cowgirl Confident event will continue on into Thursday and Friday with our esteemed panel of instructors to bring you a fun, educational filled 2 days of hands-on experience working cattle and learning the industry. Instructors include Dr. Blalock of Fairland Veterinary Hospital, Dr. Mindy Davis of Dr. Mindy’s Veterinary Service, OSU Extension, IDEXX Laboratories, Oklahoma Miniature Lovable Livestock, Cupcake Cattle Co., 2/D Ranch, Manley Cattle Co., Diamond G Mini Ranch and more!
Our goal is to empower women in cattle management while encouraging friendships with likeminded ladies, as well as build confidence and skills along the way. Cowgirl Confident provides the perfect opportunity to gain hands-on experience, ask questions and learn from industry professionals. You will learn how to move cattle safely, operate a chute, perform a blood draw, pull a calf, as well as basic vaccination, how to identify and treat common illnesses, as well as best practices for breeding and reproduction, BCS scoring, heifer retention, pond maintenance, farm marketing and more to be announced soon.
