About this Event
With summer starting to wind down and fall harvests on the horizon, now is the time to get your soil ready for the seasons ahead!
Led by Dana Rushovich of the USDA’s Natural Resource Conservation Service, our Cover Crop Crash Course will focus on cover crop strategies and soil care for urban farms, community gardens, and other small growing spaces.
Cover cropping is a highly effective sustainable practice that helps to maintain and enhance the health of your soil. In this class, we’ll explore how to select, plant, and manage cover crops, plus we’ll discuss key principles to boosting your soil’s productivity and resilience through fall and winter.
Participants will have the opportunity to take home 5 pounds of cover crop seed for their own growing spaces!
