Learn the basics of tapestry weaving, a versatile craft found in cultures around the world and beloved by Ukrainians. Using a simple frame loom, participants will practice building simple shapes, maintaining proper tension, and the steps to start and finish a woven piece.
This three-part course will focus on the exploration of colour, texture, and line, giving students an introduction in foundational weaving techniques and skills while letting them experiment with materials and grow their own vocabularies as weavers.
Students will finish their piece in Part 3, and have the option to purchase their loom at the end of the course.
All supplies will be provided by the Museum.
