How to prepare, structure and deliver a courageous conversation… and the conversation you first need to have with yourself. We all need to have them from time to time, yet we all have things that hold us back from having them. They’re those conversations that we often put off or don’t end up having at all. The hardest part about the conversation preparation is knowing where to start: when’s the best time to have this conversation, how might I ensure that I cover everything, how will they take it, what do I want out of this conversation? Whether it’s addressing underperformance, a behavioral issue, a relationship conflict, a communication breakdown, or asking for an awkward favor, we all have our own interpretation of what we deem “courageous” about an impending conversation, but we don’t always know how to deliver, nor prepare for them.
In this discussion, we will cover some simple tricks you can consider when planning a courageous conversation, but most importantly, the mental preparation and the conversation you first need to have with yourself.These tools won’t just help you in your professional life, but they will level up your communication in your personal life too!
