Who on earth is Lloyd Wood and why does this man have a show???
The pride of Indiana, Lloyd Wood is one of the most consistently successful entertainers in the state. He's been performing in Indiana since 1978 and is nationally recognized for his contributions to the country music industry.
As a singer, songwriter, guitarist, and vocal impressionist, Lloyd first gained a solid regional following as Lloyd Wood and the Little Nashville Express, the house band for the Little Nashville Opry. They opened the show for most of the bigger acts in country music in the late 1970s and early 80s and gained a following among regional country fans.
Speaking of vocal impressions... Lloyd never performs without showing off his impressive impersonations of the likes of George Jones, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Elvis, and Marty Robbins, as well as Walter Brennan, Jimmy Stewart, Gabby Hayes and Tiny Tim during his show filled with country music and impromptu comedy!
Whether performing before a large audience or doing a benefit, this man loves the Lord, his family, community, and country. He definitely loves to entertain and it shows!
FUN FACT: Lloyd is also a recipient of the Sagamore of the Wabash: the highest honor bestowed by an Indiana Governor.
