About this Event

Earth Day is an annual event on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. First held on April 22, 1970, it now includes a wide range of events coordinated globally. Join Council Member Nantasha Williams and NYC Parks to celebrate Earth Day in April.

The following activities are planned:

  • Green roofs activity-demo on green roofs as well as an art activity
  • Sustainable Agriculture & Food Justice activity led by high school youth leaders
  • Solar Energy
  • Pollinators & Native Plants activity
  • Reading Nook
  • Chalk Art
  • Planting projects
  • Large Nature Educational Maze
  • Screened Wildlife
  • Multiple Green Activities
  • H20 Mad Science
  • Nature Landscape
  • Be Tobacco Free
  • Horticulture tabling
  • Tree Education


The following entities are partnering:

  • Urban Park Rangers
  • DEP
  • FDNY


Snacks such as popcorn, apples and water will be available for the children.There will also be two (2) inflatables for the children to enjoy


Music will be provided by a DJ.
